Wes’s window on Traffic

By wes

Here I am in traffic on South Dowling, boxed in between brake lights and bus fumes, watching the next lane glide like it’s got VIP access. Every time I switch, my old lane takes off. Every time.

The giant Jeep doesn’t help. It’s too easy to dart around, too tempting to believe I can muscle my way through gridlock if I just stay alert enough. For years I fought traffic like it was a competition. Tight grip on the wheel, muttering under my breath, convinced that every tiny move mattered. It never did. I just showed up frazzled, like I’d run a marathon in park.

These days I do it differently. I put on a podcast, give people space, smile when someone sneaks in. I don’t fight it anymore. Funny thing, now I arrive calmer and almost always at the same time. Turns out peace beats panic every time.

Real estate works the same way. Results don’t come from darting between strategies or chasing shortcuts. They come from relationships, steady effort, and thoughtful moves that build momentum over time. The best outcomes aren’t rushed; they’re earned through trust, consistency, and a calm hand on the wheel.

Pick your lane, stick with it, and give it space to move. You’ll still get where you’re going, just with a little more ease and a much better view.
